COLOR RETOUCH

Well on today's post i thought of showing you guys what i use and how i color or retouch my hair. IF you not already know..i am a lover for red/pink shades and ombre! Before you start reading or doing anything i want you to know that i am NOT a professional hairdresser and what i do ,i do it on my own risk,so if you are not feeling comfortable enough doing this on your home then you should have a professional hairdresser do it for you! A BIT OF MY HAIR HISTORY: My Natural Hair color is dark brown, i started dying my hair red about a year ago but i had ombre for about 4 years! My hair has always been really thin and super freezy-curly and not super long as i have a hard time growning them..they just WONT grow, even before i starting "hurting" them,(my mum keeps yelling i should stop destroying my hair cause hers is down to her butt (i obviously didnt get the gene)) xaxax but as you will see down below dyeing your hair once isnt that bad! First i used box dyes but they faded really quick and in a more brown color so i wasnt as red as i wanted! Then a sales woman at Hondos Center(Greece) suggested i tried the Lorven Beauty Color in 6.62 (with 30% developer) which i thought was GREAT, serisouly it gives you a perfect ruby red (as youll see later) but then again it still wasnt the magenta red i was looking for..and then i found it!! The Majicontrast in Rouge Magenta by Loreal,no matter how dark your hair is this will make them magenta, and i dont know if it was that i had kind of already red hair, but when its fades your hair are still RED

So if you are starting out with dark hair and want to achieve the hair color i have i would suggest you to buy first the Majicontrast with 20% or 30% developer and apply all over your hair leaving out the ends, also keep im mind that i already had ombre (bleached ends) which means thay are a lot lighter and you definitely need a light base to add the bright pink dye later!

Now down below you see everything we are going to use TODAY to refrest the color 1.Lorven Beautycolor 6.62 + 30% developer 2.conditioner (cheap one) 3.vaseline 4.semi permanent dye LaRiche Directions: Pillarbox Red Carnation pink so as you read on the hair history, i might love the Majicontrast magenta but from what i read, its quite harsh on the hair (which is why it gives you such great vibrant red results, until now ive used it two times( every 4-5 months) and thats why i came up with another much healthier for the hair idea to retouch my color and i do this almost every 2 months! I use Lorven to retouch ONLY my roots and then i use PILLARBOX RED (+conditioner) for the rest of my red hair and then Carnation Pink (+conditioner) whenever i want my ends to be more pink! and ofcourse dont forget to apply Vaseline all over your hair line so you can get the dye cleaned out super easy after you are done!!

(in the pictures above, 2 months faded Lorven on the roots and 4 months faded Majicontrast on the rest of the red hair)

Here are some photo taken infront of my bedroom window so you can see alot better the true color my hair had and my dark roots, which might not seem that bad cause Lorven is slightly darker than Majicontrast ,so whenever i redo my roots with Lorven the new hair that are growing are actually blending much better with the rest of the hair and that is one more reason why i dont redye my hair every month, which is a win ;) AND another win with Lorven is that its 70ml and that lasts me for TWO TIMES ( so for 4 months i spend max 10 euros to retouch my roots) so 1 month=2,5 euro...THAT ROCKS

LET'S GET STARTED

Mixed HALF of the Lorven with HALF developer and applied Vaseline all over my hair line! READY TO GO

(Photo above taken infront of the window) After 45 minutes rinse out with ONLY WATER ,dont use shampoo. Shampoo your hair after 1-2 days so you hair can lock the color better! *USE a towel you dont care about cause the color will be all over it

(here you can see my super Frezzy blowdried hair, blowdrier tents to make my curly hair straight, cause as i said i have super thin hair that can take any form super quickly especially when heat is applied) So, Many times i would just stop here since i actually enjoy my hair color like that and i am pretty pleased with the result, but when i want that extra pinky shades i would also go to ROUND 2

ROUND 2

NOW, take two plastic bowls. In the first one add Conditioner and one spoon of the red reapeat the same thing to the other bowl and the pink dye (you can add as much conditioner or dye you want until you have the desired color in the bowl) WHY USE CONDITIONER? Well semi-permanent hair dyes like these ones do NO HARM AT ALL to your hair and conditioner can be used to either make a color lighter (a more pastel color and keep in mind that you need a tiny bit of the color added to the conditioner if you want to achieve a pastel color) or you can use conditioner to just increase the volume and the amount of color so the hair dye lasts you A LOT LONGER. ( i bought these 6 moths ago 5 euros each) Generally i love all the crazy colors you can get with this kind of dyes but the drawback is that you NEED TO HAVE a light base color on your hair..the whiter/blonder the better the color will show, and they also fade FAST..i mean FAAAAST

apply,apply,apply

After 45 minutes rinse out with ONLY WATER ,dont use shampoo. Shampoo your hair after 1-2 days so you hair can lock the color better! *USE a towel you dont care about cause the color will be all over it

FINISHED
